"Life is not what you alone make it. Life is the input of everyone who touched your life and every experience that entered it. We are all part of one another."

—Yuri Kochiyama

I am a Lead Trainer with the IFS Institute and an Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist and Approved IFS Consultant. I was formally trained in the model in 2004 when I was a graduate student, so IFS has informed my entire clinical career.  I also have additional training in Somatics, Attachment Theory and Interpersonal Neurobiology.  I am Level 3 trained in IFS and have served as a Program Assistant for several Level 1 and Level 2 trainings and in early 2022, I have joined the IFS training staff. Students have consistently praised my warm, grounded, confident, and encouraging manner.

I offer both individual and group consultation for IFS therapists who are in or have completed a Level 1 training.  I am a Certified IFS Consultant and Supervisor, so consultation hours with me  will count towards IFS certification.

In my therapy practice, I work primarily with clients who are BIPOC or LGBTQIA++ and often hold the intersection of both identities and more.  I bring a social and racial justice lens to all of my work and I am particularly interested in and experienced with examining how a client’s system is impacted by external systems of oppression, cultural and legacy burdens, and exploring power dynamics in and out of the therapy room.

During consultation meetings, I offer:

  • Consultation around specific cases,

  • Review of recorded sessions,

  • Didactic teaching of elements of using the model,

  • Roleplay and demos,

  • Exploration of therapists’ parts activated during their work with clients.

At this time, I welcome individuals for consultation, and also welcome pre-formed groups who would like to do a series of consultation meetings together.  In the future, I plan to offer specific groups for BIPOC and/or Queer clinicians/practitioners and for social justice oriented clinicians/practitioners of any race.
